Nancy Beller-Simms is the Program Manager for the Human Dimensions of Global Change Research Program (HDGCR). Her primary research interest is within the field of natural hazards, specifically with global change and mitigation, preparation, adaptation, and vulnerability issues. She also has an interest in environmental education. She is a geographer with a Ph.D. and B.S. from the University of Maryland and an M.S. from the University of Michigan.

Lisa Farrow Vaughan serves as the Program Director for Environment and Development. In this capacity, she is responsible for the development of programs, methods and pilot projects which integrate socially-defined needs with science and technology for the purpose of fostering sustainable development. Her professional interests include transboundary management of shared resources; climate, equity and ethics; Latin America and the Caribbean; and the development of innovative international institutional arrangements for understanding and adapting to climate variations. She received her M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
