These discussions are an early step in achieving the goal of increased connectivity between NOAA Research capabilities and sanctuary climate information needs under CPO's Marine Ecosystems Risk Team (MERT) initiative.

El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO)-driven variations in sea surface temperatures over the tropical Pacific play a major role in seasonal rainfall changes in the United States and in driving weather and climate around the world. However, little is known about how ENSO will respond to anthropogenic changes in Earth’s climate.

Climate risks pose a particular set of challenges to electrical utilities, who must manage the direct impacts of climate and weather, in addition to considering how related effects might propagate through networks of interconnected social and environmental risks.

Practitioners in the field of climate adaptation and resilience can apply for funds to collaborate on projects to rapidly scale up climate adaptation and resilience services throughout the United States.

The projects focus on linkages between climate and infectious diseases, heat and/or food systems and nutrition.
