Western Water Assessment RISA welcomes new director

Lisa Dilling, assistant professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, is the new director of the Western Water Assessment (WWA), an applied research program that addresses societal vulnerabilities related to climate, particularly in the area of water resources.

Research funded by CPO’s Atmospheric Chemistry, Carbon Cycle, and Climate (AC4) program was published in Nature Geosciences.  The article assesses the relationship between the organic carbon content of sea water and freshly emitted sea spray aerosol in the North Atlantic as well as the coastal waters of California.

The publication - Understanding Uncertainties in Future Colorado River Streamflow - is a synthesis of studies on Colorado River streamflow projections that examines methodological and model differences and their implications for water management.

The limits of their innovation might be tested in a future which could pose even more challenges to ensuring the oasis remains green.
