CPO-funded researcher Dr. Melissa Kenney was the lead author on a paper published in the journal Climatic Change.

NOAA's Climate Program Office released its FY15 Annual Report on March 11, 2016. The report gives an overview of CPO's achievements  in FY15 and highlights the great work done by the Office's Divisions and Programs to advance scientific understanding of climate and improve society's ability to plan and respond to a changing climate.

A joint-study conducted between NOAA and other partners reports that the Aliso Canyon natural gas leak in Los Angeles, California produced the largest methane leak in U.S. history.

A recently published and thorough review of the current state of scientific knowledge regarding the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) has been published in Reviews of Geophysics.This effort was supported by CPO's Climate Variability and Predictability (CVP) and Modeling, Analysis, Prediction, and Projections (MAPP) programs. 

On Feb. 2 and 9, respectively, NIDIS launched two new Drought Early Warning Systems (DEWS) in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest.
