New research synthesis supported by NOAA’s Climate Program Office has been published in Current Climate Change Reports. The paper by Kopp et al., "Geographic Variability of Sea-Level Change" summarizes the myriad components and processes of the earth system - both geological and climatological - that contribute to regional relative sea level.

From July 28-30, Climate Program Office Director Wayne Higgins and CPO Climate and Health Lead Juli Trtanj  are particiating in a workshop on the development of climate services for a National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS).

The CPO-sponsored National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS) in June 2015 has funded the Drought Risk Management Research Center (DRMRC), at the National Drought Mitigation Center (NDMC) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The center will focus on research to improve drought monitoring, impacts assessment and risk management in close partnership with NIDIS and its federal, state, tribal and local partners, domestically and internationally. These efforts will advance preparedness for drought events and contribute to mitigation of its impacts.

The Climate Program Office is working closely with USAID and OSTP on the U.S.-initiated public-private partnership on Climate Services for Resilient Development (CSRD), which was originally announced by President Obama during the September 2014 UN Climate Summit.
