A new study assesses the evolution of weather and climate conditions and impacts during the 1950s to establish their national and regional decision-making contexts, scientific and technological improvements prior to and during the event that helped mitigate risks, and on and off-farm responses in terms of the socioeconomic impacts.

The Climate.gov team provided visual highlights to accompany the latest installment of NOAA's Arctic Report Card, released December, 15 2015.

In partnership with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Office of Science and Technology, CPO's Coastal and Ocean Climate Applications (COCA) program competitively awarded seven grants projects in FY 2015 focused on increasing the understanding of climate-related impacts on fish stocks and fisheries.  The roughly $5 million in grants cover a two- to three-year time period.

A new CVP-supported study by Chen et al. titled “Intraseasonal Variability of Upwelling in the Equatorial Eastern Indian Ocean” has been published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans.

A technical report produced by the NOAA CMIP5 Task Force analyzes how CMIP5--the latest generation of climate model simulations--compares to CMIP3 simulations and projections of regional climate processes for North America.
